Nearly 1,500 people run in response to 2024 Earth Hour campaign
VOV.VN - Roughly 1,500 people took part in a race held at the Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi in response to the 2024 Earth Hour campaign.
The race aims to encourage the community to regularly practice electricity saving for 365 days, thereby making electricity saving a normal habit.
Upon addressing the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan emphasised that diverse activities have been held throughout March to respond to the Earth Hour campaign.
These events include an online competition which seeks to raise public awareness about economical and efficient use of energy, a campaign to call on the entire population to save electricity, and a race to respond to the Earth Hour Campaign.
He noted that the drive will encourage all people, communities, and businesses nationwide to join hands in a bid to protect the environment and save energy towards a net zero emissions target by 2050 in line withVietnamese commitments at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26).
