Overview picture of Southeast Asia’s longest cross-sea bridge

VOV.VN - Once completed, Tan Vu-Lach Huyen Bridge linking Dinh Vu Peninsula and Cat Hai island district in Hai Phong City will be the longest cross-sea bridge in Southeast Asia.

The bridge, 16 m wide, 15.6km long including 5.44km cross-sea, is built at a cost of nearly VND12,000 billion (US$522 million), of which US$443 million comes from Japanese official development assistance.

It connects developing areas in the east of Hai Phong with Lach Huyen Port in the island district of Cat Hai and the Hanoi – Hai Phong highway.

The bridge now has four lanes and it is expected to expand to six lanes after its completion.

After the bridge opens to traffic, it will take just five minutes to travel by bus from Hai Phong city to Cat Hai island instead of hours by ferry.

The official inauguration of the bridge is planned for September 2.
