Police in southern Vietnam charge 3 for rhino horn smuggling

VOV.VN - Police in the southern province of Tay Ninh have charged three Vietnamese nationals for smuggling rhino horns, a senior police official said on Wednesday, July 26, pointing to further gains in the fight against the illegal trade.

According to the Vietnam News Agency, police stopped and searched a car driven by Nguyen Duc Nam as he attempted pass through the Moc Bai International Border Gate from Cambodia into Vietnam.

They discovered 5kilos of rhino horns secreted in the vehicle. Also arrested were the two passengers, Cao Xuan Vinh and Ho Van Viet, who are believed to be part of the conspiracy to illegally trade in rhino horn.
