Seminar promotes Vietnam – Thailand education cooperation

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association organized a seminar on education connections between the two countries at University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce on February 21.

In his address, Vietnamese Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh emphasized the importance of education cooperation between the two countries in the context that Vietnam – Thailand relations are developing well, and human resources are the key to fostering bilateral cooperation in all areas.

He expressed his belief that more Vietnamese students would choose to study in Thailand when they receive more information about Thai training facilities through the seminar.

Sanan Angubolkul, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association, affirmed that education plays an important role in the development of each country. He said the seminar was a good opportunity to promote closer and more effective connections between Thai and Vietnamese businesses.

Attending the seminar through videoconferencing, Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Nikorndej Balankura said that every year the Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation as well as many Thai universities offer a number of scholarships to Vietnamese students to attract excellent students to Thailand. He pointed out that after graduation, Vietnamese students have opportunities to find jobs at both international companies and Thai companies, especially Thai companies operating in Vietnam.

Delegates were briefed on information about Vietnamese students in Thailand and the education market in Vietnam. They also heard representatives of some large Thai companies talk about human resource needs in Vietnam, and Vietnamese students talk about their lives and learning in Thailand.

Vietnam currently ranks fifth in the number of students studying in Thailand, after China, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. Many Thai universities are also having cooperative and exchange relationships with many Vietnamese universities.
