Tet Shoeboxes fundraising event to light up poor community

Tet Shoeboxes Project, a Hanoi-based charitable project, is hosting a special fundraising event – Share the Light – on September 16 at The Grove Garden Bar in Tay Ho district.

All money raised will be used to help Phao village, an isolated and poor floating community living on a section of the Red River under the Long Bien Bridge in Hanoi, increase their running electricity from one hour a day to eight.

The family-friendly event will feature workshops, a flea market, yoga, face painting, spoken word, live art and music performances. Some of Hanoi’s best DJs will close the event, which runs from 10am until late.

Prizes are also available in a day long raffle, including free facials, furniture, bar and restaurant vouchers and more.

Entrance costs 50,000 VND and any additional donations to the project are welcomed. The Grove is located at 16A Dang Thai Mai street, Tay Ho district. More information is available at the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TET.shoeboxes.
