Truck rollover causes Thanh Tri Bridge traffic chaos

VOV.VN - The Hanoi Thanh Tri Bridge has been reopened to traffic after emergency services cleared a truck that had earlier rolled and spilled its load.

The truck, which was carrying bags of cement, overturned at about 6am this morning (Apr. 22).

A witness said the truck swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and flipped on its side, tipping cement and debris onto several lanes.

As a result, traffic on the bridge was closed in both directions causing hours long traffic congestion.

Police officials said it took roughly four hours to clear the scene and reopen the bridge to traffic.

There were no serious injuries reported.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected.

The driver of the truck, Nguyen Van Sy, 24, is from the province of Ha Nam.
