US honours Vietnamese scientist

(VOV) - The Hawaii House of Representatives has granted a certificate to honour Nguyen Huu Ninh, member of Nobel Peace Prize of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Ninh is credited for his outstanding contribution to environmental science, and his achievements in research, teaching and published projects as well as his efforts to improve human kind’s awareness of global climate change impact on the environment.

Ninh became a member of the Nobel Peace Prize 2007 and one of 2,000 authors of the IPCC’s the fourth report: climate change 2007.

He was also one of ten key authors of chapter 10 on Asia and author of many other scientific researches on environment and climate change.

He successfully defended biological thesis doctorate at the Hungary Academy of Sciences in 1986.

Currently, Ninh is senior lecturer and researcher of the Hanoi National University and chairman of the Centre for Environment Research Education and Development.
