Vietnam’s first-ever Math Kangaroo Contest set for March 20

VOV.VN - The Contest-Game – Math Kangaroo – originated in France in 1991 and quickly became famous in Europe. With each passing year the popularity of the competition continues to grow attracting new cities and new countries around the globe.

Now, for the first time ever the contest will be held in Vietnam.

The Centre for Skills and Talent Development IEG, the University of Education and Vietnam National University have announced they have agreed to collaborate and sponsor it in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Math Kangaroo competition is a multiple choice contest for students from grades 1 – 12. Problem sets consist of three sections 8 questions each.

The contest will be administered at the Hanoi primary schools of Doan Thi Diem, Ngoi Sao Hanoi, Vinschool and Ho Chi Minh City’s Nguyen Thai Son primary school on March 20 with check-in opening at 9:30am.

Students are expected to be checked in and seated by 10:30am for pre-test instructions.

Parents are then invited to stay for refreshments and a special lecture for them during the competition time.
