Young leaders receive royally-bestowed honor pins

A number of Thai youngsters have received certificates and royally-bestowed honor pins after completing camp-based programs that lasted for over 20 days overseas.

Vitat Techabun, the Director-General of Thailand's Department of Children and Youth, chaired the certificate and pin presenting ceremony recently.

347 children from Thailand took part in the Village program and the Step Up program sponsored by the International Association of Children's International Summer Villages, or CISV International.

Both camp-based programs last between 23 and 28 days, bringing together children aged between 11 and 15 from around the world. This year, camps were set up in Brazil, Denmark, Finland, India, USA, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Vietnam, and Thailand.

CISV International is a global organization dedicated to inspiring peace through building inter-cultural friendship, cooperation and understanding. Founded in 1950, today it is a federation of 70-member associations with over 200 chapters or local groups.
