Golden Ball Awards unveil shortlist for best players
VOV.VN -On December 30, the jury for the Golden Ball Awards unveiled the shortlist for the best candidates for each sports category.
The top five candidates for the Vietnamese Golden Ball Awards 2016 for male players are Luong Xuan Truong (Incheon/Gangwon FC), Vu Van Thanh (HAGL FC), Pham Thanh Luong (Hanoi FC), Vu Minh Tuan (Quang Ninh FC), and Le Cong Vinh (Becamex Binh Duong FC).
The top five candidates for the 2016 Women’s Gold Ball Awards are Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung (Ha Nam FC), Chuong Thi Kieu (HCM City FC), Huynh Nhu (HCM City FC), Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet (Hanoi FC), and Dang Thi Kieu Trinh (HCM City FC).

The top five candidates for the 2016 Golden Futsal are Nguyen Van Huy (Thai Son Bac FC), Nguyen Bao Quan (Thai Son Nam FC), Ngo Dinh Thuan (Thai Son Nam FC), Nguyen Minh Tri (Thai Son Nam FC), and Tran Van Vu (Thai Son Nam FC).
The top three candidates for the best male young footballer are Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi FC), Vu Van Thanh (HAGL FC), and Nguyen Van Toan (HAGL FC).
The top three candidates for the best female young footballer are Nguyen Thi Cuc (Ha Nam FC), Le Hoai Luong (HCM City FC), and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan (HCM City FC).
The top five candidates for the best favourite player, as voted by fans via message text, are Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Van Toan, Nghiem Xuan Tu, and Vu Minh Tuan.
The top three candidates for the best foreign football player awards are Gonzalo Damian Marronkle (Hanoi FC), Gaston Merlo (Danang FC), and Errol Anthony Stevens (Haiphong FC).
The award ceremony is set to transpire at Ben Thanh Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City on January 4, 2017 at 8pm.
