Nam and Khanh win at Vietnam F4 Futures

Vietnam’s top tennis pair Ly Hoang Nam and Le Quoc Khanh defeated Congsup Congcar and Kaliyanda Poonacha on the third day of the Vietnam F4 Futures – Hai Dang Cup 2018, held on October 22 at the Hai Dang tennis complex stadium in Tay Ninh Province.  

In the men’s doubles, Khanh’s experience helped host Tay Ninh win 6-4 in the first set. Nam and Khanh overcame Congcar from Thailand and Poonacha from India 6-0 in the second set and became the first pair to enter the quarter-final.

However, another pair Vietnamese-American Timothy Toan Phung and Brandon Perez from Venezuela were beaten by higher rated French Florian Lakat and Swedish Filip Bergevi 0-6, 4-6.

Matches continue today with Vietnam’s golden hope Nam, 497 in the ATP ranking, meeting Hoang Thanh Trung in the men’s singles. Meanwhile, Trinh Linh Giang will face Poonacha.

In the men’s doubles, Giang and Bui Tri Nguyen will meet Grigoriy Lomakin from Kazakhstan and Goran Markovic from Serbia.

The total prize of the tournament is US$25,000.
