Vietnamese players train in Spain ahead of world Futsal tourney
VOV.VN - The national futsal team of Vietnam arrived in Spain on August 25 to take part in a training camp in preparation for the upcoming 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup to be held in Lithuania in September.
Head coach Pham Minh Giang said that following over one month of training in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, all players are in good form and ready to compete in the global tournament.
After securing a play-off ticket in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), none of the players are suffering from any health problems, despite the complicated nature of COVID-19.
Seventeen men have been shortlisted for the national line-up, that comprise experienced players like Van Vu, Duc Hoa, Van Y, and Quoc Nam, and young talents like Doan Phat and Van Hieu.
During the training camp in Spain between August 25 and September 3, the Vietnam futsal team will play in a friendly tournament alongside the national teams of Japan, Guatemala, and the hosts Spain.
They will then fly to Lithuania to compete in the 2021 World Cup final on September 4. Two days later Vietnam will play a friendly match against Morocco.
In the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup, Vietnam have been drawn in the same group as Brazil, the Czech Republic, and Panama. They will subsequently take on Brazil on September 13, Panama on September 16 and the Czech Republic on September 19.
