Vietnamese tank crew finish bottom in second match at Army Games
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese team finished last in Group 1 in the second match of the qualifying round of the “Tank Biathlon” at the ongoing International Army Games 2021 taking place at the Alabino military training ground on the outskirts of Moscow, Russia.
During their outing at the competition, Tank Crew No. 2 of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) failed to shoot down all the targets during the first lap and also had to run a penalty lap of 500 metres.
Despite the team completing the second and third laps successfully, they lost valuable time and finished bottom with a time of 30 minutes and 42 seconds.
Elsewhere Mongolia secured first place with a time of 27 minutes and five seconds, followed by Syria who clocked 29 minutes and 24 seconds, and Venezuela who recorded a time of 30 minutes and 25 seconds.
The final results of the third round are set to be announced by judges after they deduct points for errors made by the crews during the competition.
The International Army Games 2021 is taking place from August 22 to September 4, attracting the participation of 275 teams from 42 countries and territories worldwide competing across 34 categories.
The latest event marks the fourth consecutive year that the VPA has taken part in the international-level military multisport event.
