Women’s national team in training ahead of Asian Cup

VOV.VN - The women’s national football team held the first training session of their preparations for the final round of the Asian Women’s Cup 2018 in Hanoi on January 3.

The team have had a month long break since competing in the women’s national football championship. They have spent their time relaxing and visiting relatives before preparing for the important tasks of 2018.
Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan visited their first training session on January 3 to offer words of encouragement.
Coach Mai Duc Chung said he would continue to call up the outstanding players from the women’s national football championship to play for the women’s national football team.
Chung said the national team would focus on physical conditioning for the first training session.
The women’s team are eager to achieve the best result in the final round of the Asian Women’s Cup 2018.
Goalkeeper Kieu Trinh (in white jersey) has recently won the Golden Ball award in the women’s football category.


The women’s national team is scheduled to play 2 or 3 friendly matches in the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre against some of the men’s youth teams. They will then fly to China where they will compete in a friendly football tournament with teams from Thailand, China, and Colombia.
