Vietnam, South Africa strengthen trade ties
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Ambassador on January 30 committed to forge stronger trade, investment and tourism ties at a meeting with members of the Durban Chamber of Commerce in South Africa.
Dao Manh Duc, led trade representative at the Vietnam Embassy, said the first measure to expand their trade and tourism ties is to enable the free movement of commercial goods and people.
There was general agreement among the parties that there is no reason why both countries cannot agree on exemption of visas or streamlined procedures for each other’s citizens.
The parties at the conference also agreed to increase the trade between the two countries by incrementally working towards removing all barriers to trade starting with non-tariff barriers that prevent Vietnam from exporting agricultural produce to South Africa.
Other areas touched on by the parties were collaboration in the financial service sectors and in technical and vocational training.
