VOV.VN - To meet the increasing demand of football fans who want to support Vietnam in their quarterfinal match against Syria at ASIAD, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will open two direct flights from Hanoi to Jakarta and add one return flight HCM City-Jakarta on August 27.

Therefore, Vietnam Airlines will bring the total flights from Vietnam to Jakarta on August 27 to four, all using Airbus A321 aircraft.

The direct flights from Hanoi to Jakarta are expected to depart at 9:50am with flight times of just over four hours. While the Jakarta-Hanoi flights will depart at 0:20am (local time) on August 28 and land at Noi Bai International airport at 4:50am. The increased flights from HCM City to Jakarta will leave at 11:20am on August 27 and return to HCM City at 0:30am (local time) on August 28.

Vietnam Airlines will coordinate with travel companies in Hanoi, Da Nang and HCM City to design a special tourism program on August 27 in order to serve football fans. The package tours will include a round-trip ticket, a ticket for the quarterfinal match, tour guides and fees for food, drinks and travel.

Earlier of this year, Vietnamese fans witnessed the heroic achievements of Vietnam’s U23s in the AFC Cup under the guidance of head coach Park Hang-seo. At the ongoing ASIAD 18, Vietnam’s Olympic team beat Olympic Bahrain during the last stages of the last 16 knockout round for the men’s football event to secure their quarterfinals berth.

Being a national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines have stood side by side with Vietnamese sports teams over the years. By laying on additional direct flights to serve football supporters, the airline are sharing their hope that the national squad will make history at ASIAD and bring glory and pride to the nation.
