Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific serve nearly 1.6 mil passengers over Tet

VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced that it successfully operated almost 8,000 domestic and international flights during the Lunar New Year, serving close to 1.3 million people between January 20 to February 11.

The festive period also saw a busy period for Jetstar Pacific with a representative saying the airline also operated nearly 2,000 flights, serving 300,000 passengers during the year’s peak period.

According to a representative from Vietnam Airlines, the airline’s on-time performance (OTP) index reached 90 per cent over the period, including a 98 per cent OTP on the first day of the Lunar New Year.

Notably, the airline’s flights exceeded 500 per day on two peak days, February 2-10.

The two airlines also tightened security during Tet to ensure the safety of their flights and passengers and to avoid any violations of aviation security.

Priority counters were also arranged by the airlines to serve families with children and the elderly at airports in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
