Vietnam among top 10 favourite destinations for Chinese tourists

VOV.VN - Vietnam has been named among the top 10 favourite destinations for Chinese tourists during the May Day holiday, according to Chinese travel data platform Qunar.

The travel website shared that international flight bookings of Chinese tourists on the first day of the May Day holiday reached a record high, increasing by 20% compared to the pre-COVID level.

“The number of air ticket bookings for several visa-free destinations during the May Day holiday surpassed the figures recorded during the same period in 2019,” Qunar noted.

Specifically, flight bookings for Thailand and Malaysia witnessed an increase of more than 30%, while bookings for Singapore and Georgia more than doubled.

The number of searches from China for trips to Vietnam also almost bounced back to pre-pandemic level, reaching 95% compared to 2020, a positive sign for the Vietnamese tourism industry.

Visitors from China tended to choose a holiday in Vietnam because of its rich culture and beautiful natural landscapes.

Rounding off the list of the top 10 favourite destinations for the May Day holiday were Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, the United States, the Philippines, and Australia.
