Five coffee nurseries enabled to join VnSAT project in Dak Nong
Five coffee nurseries in the Central Highlands of Dak Nong have been enabled to join World Bank-funded VnSAT (Vietnam – Sustainable Agriculture Transformation) project that aims to provide high-quality saplings for coffee re-plantation in the locality.
With a total area of 1.9 hectares, the five nurseries are capable of providing nearly 1 million saplings for the re-plantation of 800 hectares.
Since 2012, the province has launched a coffee re-plantation programme to grow new coffee varieties with higher yield and quality.
By the end of 2016, the area of newly-grown coffee trees had reached 8,000 hectares. Dak Nong aims to have a total of 22,100 hectares of replanted and grafted coffee trees by 2020.
