Locally-based Pakistani pilots have authentic licenses
VOV.VN - The Pakistani Embassy in Hanoi has sent a diplomatic note confirming the authenticity of driving licenses in the possession of Pakistani pilots working in the country, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV).
The note was delivered following the Pakistani Embassy announcing that all aircraft driving licenses previously issued by the Pakistani aviation authorities are both real and valid. Indeed, contrary to media reports, all licenses are genuine.
This comes after hundreds of Pakistani pilots were detected using documents suspected of being fake, leading to the CAAV to issue a written document regarding the suspension of flight operations involving 27 pilots licensed to operate in the nation.
Of the group, a total of 12 are currently work in the country, whilst the rest had already returned to Pakistan. The Aviation Department subsequently sent the pilots' information to Pakistani authorities to receive verification.
The CAAV stated that if Pakistan asserts that all of its pilots working in Vietnam are legally licensed in accordance with international standards, they will permit the suspended pilots to fly again.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had previously decided to ban 262 pilots on June 25 and suspend them due to their qualifications and flight certificates being unreliable. This occurred after preliminary reports on a plane crash in Karachi in May indicated that the pilots had failed to follow standard procedures and didn’t comply with air traffic control signals.
The CAA said that certification documents had now been delivered to 10 countries and territories where 166 pilots had been working, including Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Malaysia, Bahrain, Ethiopia, Hong Kong (China), Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait.
