Hussein Alahmed, member of the executive committee of the Yemen Youth General Confederation said Vietnamese youth are both dynamic and intelligent. They are perfecting themselves to contribute more to society.
“During our exchange with students of the Hanoi Polytechnic, Alahmend said, they put clear and insightful questions, showing that they did have specific plans for their studies.”
“Vietnam is a peaceful country. Vietnamese people are friendly and open. In the past, many Yemen youths struggled with Vietnamese people in the fight against imperialism. Now, many Yemen people are living and working in Vietnam.”
“I think the exchanges between Vietnamese and international youths are necessary and useful as they can help young people understand more about each others’ countries. The WFDY is building policies to assist the youth in the struggle against the dark schemes of neo-imperialism.”
Olympia Newton, a member of the US social youth organization, said she very much valued the social activities of Vietnamese young people such as volunteer activities, blood donation and assistance to Agent Orange victims.
“I realize that protecting Agent Orange victims is very important,” Ms Newton said. “I am also an activist demanding justice for Agent Orange victims in the US.”
“I came to attend the assembly in Vietnam in the hope that I would understand more about Vietnam’s history, land and people. Vietnam has received high respect from the world for what it did in the struggle for national independence. Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam won the war. In the eyes of the world, Vietnam fought with all its might for freedom and democracy. During my stay in Vietnam, I realized that Vietnam has been developing strongly.”
Paul Davies, member of the UK Youth Federation, that said during his time in Vietnam he visited many places of interest such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Army museum. Through the visit, he learnt a lot about Vietnam’s fight against imperialism and its hiroic people.
“I will tell my friends at home about heroic youths in Vietnam,” Davies said. “I was deeply impressed by Vietnam’s unyielding struggle for national independence. It is a typical example for the world people in the fight against imperialism.”
“I met with a lot of Vietnamese students. They are warm, careful, intelligent and eager to study. I think that young Vietnamese people should help international friends to learn about Vietnam’s war and unyielding spirit.”
“Our social organization aims to protest the war in Iraq, encourage youths to unite to prevent the impact of imperialism, as well as protecting the right of women, labourers and migrants.”
