AEON set to open sixth Vietnamese shopping mall

VOV.VN - AEON Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd is planning to open another shopping mall in the northern port city of Hai Phong, the sixth of its kind in Vietnam, according to a press conference held on November 2 in Hanoi.

Addressing the press conference, Nishitohge Yasuo, general director of AEON Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd, emphasised that in addition to developing shopping malls, the company has also devised plans to launch additional specialised stores in an effort to diversify its products and services.

AEON wants to promote digital transformation, expand the local e-commerce sector, speed up the implementation of cashless shopping services, while ensuring that food hygiene and safety standards are maintained.

Covering a total area of 18,808 square metres, AEON Hai Phong is expected to offer customers a range of high-quality products that meet Japanese standards at reasonable prices.

Customers will also be able to purchase plenty of fresh seafood products and specialties from the cities of Hai Phong and Ha Long, or alternatively a variety of imported organic vegetables and fruit from many countries globally.

The highlight of AEON's shopping mall in Hai Phong will be the buffet food court (Delica) which is set to cover an area of more than 1,400 square metres and will accommodate more than 300 seats, therefore making it one of the largest Delica areas in the AEON chain nationwide.

AEON Vietnam will also put two additional specialised stores into operation on the first floor of AEON Hai Phong, including a Glam Beautique beauty and health store and AEON bicycle shop.

It is anticipated that the new shopping mall will attract more than 13 million customers annually from Hai Phong and neighbouring areas such as Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and Thai Binh.

At present, the Japanese retailer operates five shopping malls in the country including: AEON Tan Phu, AEON Binh Tan in Ho Chi Minh City, AEON Binh Duong in the southern province of Binh Duong, along with AEON Long Bien and AEON Ha Dong, both of which are located on the outskirts of Hanoi capital.
