The Ministry of Culture and Information (MoCI) has launched an action month of drug prevention and control to mark International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (June 26).

The month-long campaign, starting from June 13, focuses on enhancing the responsibility of MoCI management organisations and media agencies in educating and disseminating information about drug prevention and control to every household.

Media agencies are responsible for raising public awareness of the serious consequences of drugs and the responsibilities of society in taking care of children’s health.

Media agencies will promote good people and positive deeds in the fight against drugs and drug-related crime. The air time and quantity of radio and TV programmes on drug prevention and control will be increased during the action month, as well as art performances, poster exhibitions and film weeks about drug prevention and control.
