PM Chinh meets with top Chinese legislator

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh who is in China for a visit, met with Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, on June 27.

The two leaders expressed their delight at the good progress in the relations between the two Parties and States in recent times, including exchanges and cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People’s Congress of China. They reached common consensus on measures to deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China in general and between the two legislative bodies in particular in future.

Chinh proposed that the two sides increase visit exchanges to share development experiences, outline orientations for cooperation and satisfactorily handle differences in a spirit of friendship and in accordance with high-level common perceptions as well as international law.   

The Prime Minister said he expects that the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People’s Congress of China will create favourable conditions for ministries, agencies and localities of the two countries to effectively implement signed documents, to further ramp up bilateral strategic cooperation.

He also proposed that the two legislative bodies increase the sharing of information and experience on improving the operational efficiency of the legislative body and building a socialist rule of law state.

Chinh conveyed the invitation of the National Assembly of Vietnam to invite the young parliamentarians of the National People’s Congress of China to attend the ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians to be hosted by the National Assembly of Vietnam in September 2023.

Chairman Zhao Leji for his part agreed on Chinh’s proposals and affirmed that China attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with Vietnam, and it is willing to work with Vietnam to well implement the reached agreements and high-level common perceptions, to elevate the Sino-Vietnamese relationship to new heights.

He assured that the National People’s Congress of China is willing to step up and deepen friendly exchanges and practical cooperation with the National Assembly of Vietnam.
