The conference aims to honour 150 outstanding farmers with religious beliefs including Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Hoa Hao and Caodai sects and Islam, said Head of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union (VFU) Ideology and Culture Commission Hoang Van Ngoan.

 

A press briefing was held on September 22 by the Vietnam Farmers’ Union (VFU) to announce the organisation of the first national conference to honour religious farmer exemplary role models slated for September 29-30.


Speaking at the press briefing, Head of the VFU’s Ideology and Culture Commission Hoang  Van Ngoan said the conference aims to honour 150 outstanding farmers with religious beliefs including Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Hoa Hao and  Caodai sects and Islam.


The conference will review the implementation of the patriotic emulation movements launched by the VUF among religious followers in recent times and provide a chance for exemplary role models from 58 province and cities to share experiences in production, business and poverty reduction for the purpose of building cultural-lifestyle villages and communes and performing well  national defence and security tasks.
