VOV General Director Vu Van Hien received the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Ambassador to Vietnam Im Hong Jae in Hanoi on May 30.

At the reception, they underscored the need to boost traditional cultural cooperation between VOV and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). The two national radio stations set up cooperative relations in 1995 and around 100 staff members from both sides have exchanged their visits and professional skills.

VOV and the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) officially signed a cooperation document in 2003, and both sides have regularly exchanged their leaders’ visits with a view to seeking long-term cooperation.

Mr Hien hoped that the Ambassador will help promote the time-honoured relationship between the two national radio stations.

The RoK diplomat welcomed the Vietnam National Assembly’s approval of a resolution on expanding the administrative boundaries in Hanoi. On the occasion, host and guest also mentioned a project to build the city along the banks of the Red River.

The RoK ranks above 78 countries and territories in term of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam, with a total of 1,458 projects, most of which are major ones, worth more than US$9.36 billion.
