Hanoi music gala celebrates 20 years since award of “City for Peace” title

VOV.VN - The Vietnam-Russia Cultural Friendship Palace in Hanoi hosted a music gala on July 9 aimed at commemorating 20 years since the capital city was officially recognised as a “City for Peace” by UNESCO.

The event was organised by Hanoi Radio Television.
Those in attendance at the gala include both Party and State leaders, in addition to delegates from both at home and abroad.
To Quang Phan, general director of Hanoi Radio Television, says the capital is honoured by UNESCO’s recognition as a “City for Peace” on July 16, 1999. In being awarded the title Hanoi became the only city in the Asia-Pacific region to receive such an honour.
Singer Ngoc Khue takes to the stage to perform “Nho Ve Hanoi”, Remember Hanoi, by composer Hoang Hiep.
Those gathered in the audience had the chance to listen to stories about the capital through songs.
Khanh Ly performs “Hanoi 12 mua hoa”, 12 flower seasons in Hanoi.
Artist Thanh Hoa joins together with singer Ngoc Khue to perform “Mua Xuan Lang Lua Lang Hoa”, Flower Villages in Spring.
