The event, sponsored and co-organised by the Australian Embassy in Hanoi, VnExpress, Tourism Australia, Australia Network and Austrade will encourage those Vietnamese people studying, working or travelling in Australia to tell stories through videos and photos posted on the VnExpress website.

Addressing the launch ceremony, Australian Ambassador Allaster Cox emphasized that the interesting element of the competition is that participants can be as creative as they like through the way they tell their stories. They can also exchange perspectives with VnExpress readers through comments and by “liking videos”.

The maximum length for each video is two minutes with subtitles reflecting the content of the story. Participants can also send at least seven to twelve photos to the organizing board with caption for each photo.

The contest runs from April 14 to May 13, 2011.
