Dak Lak shooting: 18 more assailants arrested (update)
VOV.VN - The police have arrested 18 more assailants linked to attacks on the headquarters of the two commune administrations in Dak Lak province, Central Highlands of Vietnam.
Six more were arrested on June 13 afternoon and 12 more were detained on June 12 evening, said Lieut. Gen. To An Xo, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security, adding two surrendered over the night. .
By June 13 afternoon, the police had detained 45 suspects that joined a group of armed assailants to attack the headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes of Cu Kuin district.
The assaults on June 11 morning killed nine people, including four police officers, two commune officials and three local people. Two other police officers were seriously injured.
Competent forces also seized a number of military weapons, including CKC rifles.
Authorities are tracking down the remaining suspects, and at the same calling on offenders to surrender early to enjoy leniency.
