The Ha Long Shipbuilding Company in the northern province of Quang Ninh on January 31 handed over a 53,000 tonne freighter, the second of its kind so far, to the Graig group of the UK.

The Blue Diamond freighter was designed by Denmark’s Carl Bro company. Its design, construction and ship classification are examined and approved by DNV company from Norway. DNV is the leading provider of safety and quality assurance services for shipbuilders.

Construction of the third freighter of this kind for the Graig group is nearing completion and the fourth is in the final stage of assembly.
