The Algerian Embassy in Hanoi on March 8 laid a wreath at a memorial to 15 reporters and technicians who died in an air crash accident in Hanoi’s outlying Soc Son district nearly four decades ago.
At the ceremony, Algerian Ambassador Chérif Chikhi recalled the accident 38 years ago when an airplane accompanying former Algerian President Houari Boumediene exploded on March 8, 1974.

A memorial monument to the accident victims was built during the visit to Vietnam by Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on October 16, 2010.

On this occasion, Ambassador Chérif Chikhi expressed his belief that Vietnam-Algeria cooperation and friendship will develop in all fields.
