Vietnamese pop singer My Linh will be in Japan on September 16 to mark the release of three of her CDs there.

The albums Chat with Mozart, Made in Vietnam and Let Love Sing will be distributed in Japan on the Pony Canyon label. Linh will hold a press conference at Pony Canyon’s Tokyo office on September 18. She will be represented in Japan by the agency JTB Entertainment and its partner M&I Records.

Songs from the CDs were scheduled to broadcast on radio in the cities of Tokyo and Nagoya, according to Linh. She said that Nagoya’s Radio-i had already nominated Made in Vietnam as its album of the month.

Releasing her albums in the world’s second largest music market was a stroke of luck, Linh said, but it also showed that she and her team, including musicians Anh Quan and Huy Tuan, were on the right path.

“I’m really happy and proud to be distributing CDs in Japan,” she said. “I want audiences in Japan and around the world to know more about Vietnamese music.”

Her recent CD Chat with Mozart includes eight songs based on classical themes by Vivaldi, Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Mozart, given new arrangements and Vietnamese lyrics by Duong Thu.

“I felt a lot of emotion while recording songs on the album, which express both classical and pop music forms. But all the songs also contain a ‘Vietnamese’ element,” said Linh.
