Vietnam wins 9 medals at World Junior Wushu Champs 2018

The Vietnamese junior wushu team won nine medals, including three gold, two silver and four bronze at the 7th World Junior Wushu Championship 2018, which closed on July 17 in Brasilia, Brazil.

The team ranked 10th, with two gold, one silver and two bronze in the taolu category (Chinese choreography of attack and defense in wushu); and one gold, one silver and two bronze in the sanda category (sparring in wushu).

While Ngo Thi Phuong Nga (52kg) won gold after beating opponents from the Republic of Korea, India and Indonesia, Truong Van Chuong (60kg) took silver after losing to an Iranian athlete 0-2.

Other athletes Nguyen Thi Nga (56kg) and Vu Van Chien (48kg) brought home bronze; Ta Thi Thu Thao (48kg), Diep Huy Hoang (52kg), and Pham Van Suong (48kg) ranked fifth overall.
