90-year-old patient with underlying illnesses recovers from COVID-19
VOV.VN - The central province of Quang Nam on September 5 discharged from hospital four COVID-19 patients, including a 90-year-old patient who also suffered from underlying illnesses.
The elderly patient tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on July 31. He suffered from a heart attack, pneumonia due to COVID-19, and gastrointestinal bleeding.
After more than a month in hospital, the patient responded well to treatment and tested negative for the virus, meeting criteria for being released.
According doctors, all the four patients have tested negative for the virus three to four times and shown no virus symptoms such as a fever, a cough or shortness of breath.
They will now be placed in quarantine at home for another 14 days in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
On September 4, Quang Nam also discharged 13 coronavirus patients from hospital after making a full recovery from the disease.
Quang Nam has registered 96 COVID-19 cases, of whom 46 have fully recovered and returned to their home.
As of 06.00hrs September 5 Vietnam has recorded 1,049 COVID-19 cases, including 35 deaths. About 10 patients were in serious or critical condition.
