38 Vietnamese firms attend Seafood Expo Global 2023

VOV.VN - As many as 38 local seafood enterprises will showcase products at the Seafood Expo Global 2023 which is scheduled to run from April 25 to 27 in Barcelona, Spain, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

The expo is set to feature a wide range of key products such as pangasius, shrimp, as well as processed items in order to meet changing consumer trends in the post-COVID period. It is expected to create a wealth of opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises as they will introduce their value added products instead of raw materials, says the VASEP.

Apart from introducing products at pavilions, the VASEP plans to host demonstration workshops to display dishes made from pangasius, shrimp, tuna, and other value-added products, with the participation of local chefs who have spent years working in Spain.

Amid a significant decline of export orders in the first quarter, the expo provides an ideal venue for businesses to evaluate market trends and devise orientations for production and export activities in the 2023 - 2024 period.

Seafood Expo Global is one of the largest seafood trade fairs in Europe and throughout the world, featuring more than 1,550 foreign exhibitors from more than 76 countries globally.

Vietnamese seafood firms have made a presence for more than 20 years at this trade fair.

Their participation in the fair is part of the annual "National Trade Promotion Programme" aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to gain entry to potential export markets.
