U19 Vietnam loses 1-2 to Belgium & Ghana JMG

(VOV) -Vietnam’s U19 squad suffered a distressing 1-2 loss to the Belgium & Ghana JMG team in a friendly match in Belgium on April 14.

Under the lead of French chief coach Guillaume Graechen, the Vietnamese players showed high determination but failed to implement an effective attacking strategy.

After claiming an overwhelming victory of 28-0 in a friendly match with Vietnamese students in Belgium, the U19 team gained confidence to compete stronger opponents from the host team.

Strikers Van Toan, Cong Phuong missed many chances to score a goal, while the Belgium & Ghana JMG team successfully kicked the ball into the net at the end of the first half.

From a penalty kick in the second half, Belgium & Ghana JMG player got the second goal.

A few minutes later, striker Cong Phuong narrowed the gap by 1-2 after striking a goal of honour for Vietnam.

In their previous match on April 1, Vietnamese U19 footballers were also defeated by the Belgium & Ghana JMG team.

As scheduled, Vietnam’s U19 squad will have another friendly match with a JMG team in Belgium before they return to the homeland on April 21.
