The Party, State and people of Vietnam will do their best to maintain and develop the traditional friendship and cooperation with China , said Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.

Mr Manh made the statement while receiving a delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Li Yuanchao, Head of the Organisation Department of the CPC Central Committee in Hanoi on June 12. He welcomed Mr Li’s visit as a vivid manifestation of the Vietnamese-Chinese strategic comprehensive cooperation partnership.

Mr Manh spoke highly of the effective cooperation at all levels between Vietnam and China, helping to bring the two countries’ strategic partnership to new heights. He also praised the cooperation and mutual assistance in personnel training and Party building work between Vietnamese and Chinese agencies.

For his part, Mr Li highly valued the development of friendly relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States and confirmed that the Chinese Party, State and people will continue to develop the strategic partnership with Vietnam under the guideline of “Friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, durable stability and future-oriented vision” and the spirit of “Good neighbours, good comrades, good friends and good partners.”

Earlier the same day, the Chinese delegation held talks with a Vietnamese delegation headed by Ho Duc Viet, Head of the Organising Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee.

They exchanged views on measures to overcome the impact of the global financial meltdown and economic crisis and to boost cooperation in personnel training and Party building between relevant Party agencies. They signed a cooperation agreement on cadre training until 2015.
