The Vietnamese Government is willing to work closely with the Japanese Government to make the official development assistance (ODA) procedure transparent and manage the aid effectively, said Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai.

While receiving a delegation of the Democratic Party of Japan led by its vice president Okada Katsuya in Hanoi on March 9, Mr Hai said that Japanese ODA has played a significant role in Vietnam’s socio-economic development, particularly in relation to infrastructure construction, investment in rural areas and poverty reduction.

Mr Hai briefed his guest on Vietnam’s investment policies and assured that Vietnam will use Japan’s ODA effectively.

For his part, Mr Katsuya said that Vietnam is Japan’s important partner and that Japan focuses on boosting the multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam.
