The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development plans to launch a campaign entitled “Toan dan xay dung nong thon moi” (Entire people building the new countryside) nationwide in June in order to boost the industrialization and modernization process in rural areas.
According to the ministry, the countryside will get a new face lift thanks to remarkable achievements in poverty reduction and positive changes in the rural economic structure. However, there still remain some shortcomings in the field of rural development that need to be addressed, such as improper zoning plans for rural urbanization, insufficient infrastructure, and rural people’s poor living conditions.
Reviewing countryside models in Ha Tinh, Hung Yen and Dong Nai provinces, the ministry decided to launch the campaign with the aim of developing more of the successful models to accelerate positive change in rural development.
