The presentation was made in recognition of Qi’s contributions to the development of Vietnamese sports in recent years as well as the enhancement of sports and physical training cooperation between Vietnam and China.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister-Chairman of the committee Nguyen Danh Thai stressed that ties in sports and physical training between the two countries have developed remarkably over the past years, with the signing of many comprehensive cooperative agreements.
Assisted by the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, a large number of Vietnamese coaches and athletes have been sent to China for training and they have already achieved outstanding results at tournaments in the region and the world, Mr.Thai said.
For his part, Ambassador Qi Jianguo thanked the leaders of the VCSPT and spoke highly of Vietnam’s recent achievements in sports.
The Chinese diplomat affirmed that after his term of office in Vietnam he will try his best to promote cooperation between China and Vietnam in all areas, including sports and physical training.
