(VOV) - Nearly 400 volunteers, principally university students, are ready for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.

The volunteer team is young and energetic, with an average age of under 25. Many of them have received dedicated training on best practices to support those attending the event and they will be a very important part the team to ensure delegates enjoy the best assembly possible.

Most of the volunteers come from the Vietnam Volunteer Centre (VVC) under the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and have been selected based on their sense of responsibility, self-discipline, good health and good command of English.

They have been also equipped with basic knowledge about communications, international relations, and the real situation regarding Vietnam’s politics, economics, culture and society in Vietnam. They will be allocated in the Secretariat and five sub-committees during the important event.

The five-day event, which gets underway on March 28, will offer a good opportunity for volunteers to introduce the HCYU and its activities to international friends.
