Hanoi tops 2012 National Wushu Champs
(VOV) -Martial artists from Hanoi won 16 gold, three silver and four bronze medals to place first at the 2012 National Wushu Championships, which ended in Vinh Phuc province on November 9.
Ho Chi Minh City came second with eight golds, 11 silvers and three bronzes, followed by host Vinh Phuc bagging four golds, one silver and three bronzes.
The event witnessed fierce competition between strong martial artists, who triumphed in various events, such as Hanoi’s Nguyen Chinh (women’s 48kg), Nguyen Thu Hoai (women’s 60kg) and Vu Hoang Trung (men’s 75kg), the Military Club’s Nguyen Xuan Linh (men’s 60kg), the Public Security Club’s Nguyen Huu Quyet (men’s 75kg) , and Ho Chi Minh City’s Tran Duy Phuong (women’s 48kg).
The tournament aimed to select the best martial artists for upcoming international competitions.
