State President Nguyen Minh Triet on September 20 received a delegation of representatives from 21 APEC economies who are attending the 11^th APEC Women Leaders’ Network (WLN) Meeting in Hanoi.

At the reception, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union Ha Thi Khiet informed Mr Triet about the results of the meeting.

Women play an important role in boosting the country’s socio-economic development and Vietnam always praises women’s role and position and creates favorable conditions for them  to play to their full strength in social life, Mr Triet stressed.

Regarding the proposals made by the 11^th APEC WLN Meeting, Mr Triet said he will convey these proposals to APEC leaders.
