The Bien Hoa Coffee Company (Vinacafe Bien Hoa) has won the 2005 World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Award for its outstanding achievements in applying the intellectual property system in production.

Le Xuan Thao, Director of the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC), attributed Vinacafe Bien Hoa's success to the company's registration of 150 labels and industrial designs and copyrights in Vietnam and 70 countries worldwide.

The award will be presented to Vinacafe Bien Hoa at the Hanoi Opera House on April 12.

The company's products were exported to 40 countries and accounted for 50 percent of the instant coffee market shares in the domestic market with a total revenue of roughly US$26.5 million in 2005.

At present, Vinacafe Bien Hoa is leading the country in coffee marketing and export with the goal of sustainable development for Vietnamese coffee trademarks in the international market.
