Sprinter Vu Thi Huong has failed to go further at the ongoing Beijing Olympic Games in China as she came last in the second qualifying round of the women’s 100m event on August 16.

In the first qualifying round, she came third, clocking 11”65, behind Belgium’s Gevaert (11”33) and Belarus’ Nestsiarenka Yuliya (11”40).

Huong was one of the three Southeast Asian athletes competing in the first round and only Huong qualified for the second round as Thailand’s Thavancharoen Jutamass and Laos’ Sackaseuth Philaylack ran 100m in 11”82 and 13”36 seconds respectively.

Huong won a gold medal in the 100m event after being clocked at 11”47 at the 24th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) last December.
