Storm No7 to be stronger

(VOV) - Storm No7 has been moving slowly to the Southeast and might become stronger.

The National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) forecast that by 1am on October 3, the location of the storm would be at 16.3 north latitude and 115.3 east longitude, just 340km from the Hoang Sa archipelago. Gusted wind near the eye of the storm would be 62-88km/h.

 

In the eastern part of Hoang Sa area, there would be rough seas and strong winds, the centre warned.

Command in the central region have been trying to contact vessels operating at sea and guide them to safe shelter.

 

The Phu Yen provincial Border Guard Command claimed to be in contact with 1,250 fishermen on board 284 vessels operating near Truong Sa Islands.

 

Colonel Nguyen Trong Huyen said patrol forces are on duty round the clock and ready to come to their rescue as soon as possible.

 

On October 1, nearly 1,000 fishing boats from nearby South-central provinces took shelter at Hon Ro Port in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa province.
