At a working session with the Quang Binh provincial Party Organisation’s Standing Committee, Mr Manh praised local authorities for their rescue and relief efforts. He emphasised that special attention should be given to ensuring hygiene to help the local people avoid disease while greater efforts should be made to repair classrooms in time for the start of the new school year in September.

He also called on local authorities to draw experience from the previous storms to minimize future property and human losses.

Quang Binh like other localities should pay more attention to protecting the environment, developing forests and relocating people living in coastal areas to safer areas.

In regard to the implementation of the resolutions adopted at the 10th National Party Congress and the 14th Congress of the provincial Party Organisation, Mr Manh hailed Quang Binh’s socio-economic achievements in the first half of this year with a high economic growth rate of 11.5 percent.

He expressed hope that Quang Binh will overcome the consequences of the recent floods and continue making greater efforts for rapid and sustainable development in the years to come.
