Vietnam welcomes Sunny Group’s investment expansion plan

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on March 8 highly valued China’s Sunny Optical Technology Co. Ltd.’s investment expansion plan in Vietnam, which he said will help to generate a Sunny ecosystem in the country.

Receiving Ye Liaoning, chairman of the Board of Directors of Sunny in Hanoi, Quang welcomed the group’s investment plan in Thai Nguyen which has acquired a wealth of experience in attracting global high-tech manufacturers, including Sam Sung of the Republic of Korea.

With an investment of US$2-2.5 billion, Sunny is planning to establish a high-tech research and development center in Thai Nguyen to support the application of new technology as well as technology transfer.

The Government, ministries and localities of Vietnam will create the most favourable conditions for the group to operate successfully in the country, he assured the Chinese executive.

He expected Sunny would continue to expand investment to other localities in Vietnam, helping the country to develop a system of high-tech enterprises, and creating conditions for local high-tech enterprises to participate in Sunny’s equipment supply chain.

Ye for his part briefed his host on Sunny’s investment and operation strategy, saying the group specializes in manufacturing optical products from camera modules to lenses and automotive optical equipment. Currently, it has developed a number of branches in Thai Nguyen.

He expressed hope that the group would receive the support of the Government, ministries and agencies of Vietnam in implementing its projects in the country. He voiced Sunny’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Vietnamese localities to further promote business cooperation between the two sides.

At the reception, Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang and representatives of a number of ministries and agencies witnessed the exchange of an MoU between the administration of Thai Nguyen and Sunny Group on the implementation of an investment project worth between US$2-2.5 billion in the locality.
