Majority of districts in Dien Bien report cases of African swine fever

Nguyen Van Thai, Chairman of the Nam Po district People’s Committee, said the fresh cases of ASF have been detected in the hamlets of Nam Cung and Na En in the commune of Cha To and had left a total of 36 pigs dead.

Immediately after receiving notification of the incident, local authorities and relevant agencies culled all the infected pigs in accordance with current regulations.

As of May 24, the ASF epidemic has been discovered in 289 hamlets across 57 communes and wards in 8 districts in the locality. The spread of the fever has caused huge economic losses and made an impact on the production activities of local residents.
