Hanoi FC progress to AFC Cup ASEAN Zone finals for the first time

VOV.VN - Hanoi FC put on a strong display to defeat Ceres Negros FC of the Philippines 2-1 in the second leg of the AFC Cup’s ASEAN Zonal semi-finals on June 25, the victory saw the hosts win the tie 3-2 on aggregate and progress to the 2019 AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal finals for the first time in their history.

Ceres Negros FC were expected to progress to the next round of the tournament and were confident of getting a result at the Hang Day stadium in Hanoi ahead of the match. |
As hosts, Hanoi FC appeared to be confident going into the fixture. |
Quang Hai and his teammates put on a good defensive display during the first half, with Ceres Negros FC having no clear-cut chances to test goalkeeper Van Cong. As a result, both teams went in goalless at half time. |

In the 85th minute, Dizon pulled a goal back for Ceres Negros FC. However, it wasn’t enough for the away side and the match finished 2-1 in favour of Hanoi FC.
